Jelly Ear fungus

On my walk around the village I saw this Jelly Ear fungus on an old elder tree. They're edible and I've tasted them on a fungus forray but their rubbery texture wasn't something that made me want extra helpings. Perhaps they would taste better when cooked.

It's a year today since I had my open heart surgery. I can confidently say that I feel more comfortable today than this time last year!
