A host of...

..golden daffodil! 

Converted to mono because I liked it better. Our first daffodil of the year which had been damaged overnight, so I brought it indoors to photograph.

We had a fabulous time last night...good food, good company and good wine! The evening started with a champagne reception and canapés during which Michel Roux came round and spoke to everyone. Once seated in the restaurant he introduced each course before it was served then came round during desert/coffee to sign books/menus etc and have another chat with us all. He was a very personable chap with a great sense of humour.

We ate scallops from Orkney for starters; duck from Cumbria for mains and pear Mille Feuille for desert...all the main ingredients were sourced from the UK and all in season! I think it’s safe to say hubby enjoyed his Christmas present...I did too.
