Moorhens

Today’s picture is of two Moorhens, which were swimming around our pond. They were so far away, at the bottom of the orchard that I did not realise that there were two of them. Behind the Moorhens, sleeping on the bank are a pair of Mallards.
 
This morning I once again cleared all the leaves, which the storms had blown about, out of the small wildlife pond.
 
Not a very productive day other than cleaning the leaves. It feels quite cold and is windy. The temperature at GMT noon was nine degrees Celsius.
