The Brimscombe Long Table

Lunch here today, a really nice chickpea casserole.

The 'Why' of the long table

In a world of fast food, TV dinners and the nuclear family people tend to eat on their own, just within their immediate family or don’t even stop to eat. The Longest Table is aiming to reteach the art of hosting meals and encourage us to eat beyond the confines of just those who share a home with us- we want more street parties, less isolated older people and more shared food. Foodbanks shouldn’t be needed if we all keep our meal tables open and look out for those who need a meal within our street.
