Ice rivers

This morning the wind pushed the newly formed ice up against the shore creating gorgeous patterns. Although it was very cold, the light was warm and Song Sparrows were learning their notes. Red-breasted Mergansers were doing their best to look good for the ladies but they were hilarious to us humans as they bobbed and weaved!
