Mercat Cross
I was at a funeral for a colleague from my old work today and then had to get back to town as we were going to a talk about Scarp, an island off the coast of Harris. It was inhabited until the early 1970s when it became unsustainable to live there any more. I had taken the bus from Mortonhall to town and then picked up a sandwich before going up the Royal Mile. We had several hefty wintry showers today but it was glorious as I was by the Mercat Cross by St Giles and decided the reflection in the puddle made a better blip than the cross itself.
