A tool from our kitchen? Hm, that's mysterious!

The optional theme of today is 'mysterious'. My picture is the abstract version of a tool in our kitchen. But what is it? It looks like a whole lot of plastic, but that is an optical illusion. Actually at least half of the surface is fabric. Quite mysterious, isn't it?
