Old boundary

When out for a walk between hail showers with my friend J we came across this old, moss-covered dry-stone wall which would once have marked a boundary between two areas of land under different ownership. Nowadays, it is slowly decaying in the middle of an area of community-owned woodland. Most of the Sitka spruce that grew here for the past 50 years was cut down about four years ago, apart from the stand of trees in the distance. These could not be felled at the time because a pair of white tailed eagles were nesting there. Sometime in the next few years this area will be replanted and after a couple of decades we might be able to enjoy a lovely woodland walk once again.
