Nest of vipers
I came across this statement that I’d written in a draft document and thought it sounded a little harsh. It was in the context of a remote wild west sort of town in northern Mozambique which we suspect is an important hub for the illegal trade in wildlife. I like the phrase and am going to use it more often going forward, principally to describe places such as the editorial office at the Daily Mail or Piers Morgan’s dressing room on the set of Good Morning Britain.
Outside this nursery the critters are saying ‘hello girls’ and ‘hello boys’. It’s cute but children who identify differently are not catered for and may feel shunned by Mozambican society.
It is fair to say the evening was one of humidity and drudgery, preparing for an important meeting tomorrow with the fan on full blast inches from my face.
