Pied shags sunbathing

Well I must have been picking up on something last night, turns out the mountains are growing faster here than anywhere else in New Zealand on account of it being on a fault line. My suspicions were aroused by the signs in the public toilets, in Queenstown it was pictures telling you not to squat on the toilets, here it is pictures of what to do in the event of an earthquake.
Went for a beautiful walk around the peninsula today and being rather taken with the place have decided to stay here for a week and get some proper training done. Two good things about this walk, option for a swim halfway and a great ice cream van a mile from the finish. Have given myself a week so I can try all the flavours I struggled to make a decision about today.
Wishing I was better at identifying sea birds, there is such a variety of things swooping delightfully overhead. Ione, am missing walking with you and your encyclopaedic knowledge of all living things, not the same having to google stuff. Hope you are well x
