A long time coming.

A long weekend in Amsterdam - family trip - celebrating my wife’s recent big Birthday in December 2019. The trip was first planned in March 2019. And was a well kept surprise until her birthday.

Our older son, his fiancé and our younger son collected us promptly and we headed off to Edinburgh airport. We met a familiar face at the airport; my son’s fiancé’s father works at the airport airside. Our KLM flight was straightforward and on time; a short train journey to Amsterdam Centraal Station and a walk to Dam Square took us to our hotel, Hotel Grand Krasnapolsky; an excellent 5-Star establishment. We got a lovely reception and were shown to super rooms. We hit the streets soon afterwards and my older son’s fiancé took our photo.

We ended up in an Italian restaurant my older so had booked; he should become a tour guide, all his plans today were well thought through.
