King of the Cave
A full on day of touristy stuff. First up to Aira Force, another of my favourite places, especially when I remember to take a tripod (I didn't). It was a good walk though with lots of water going over the falls (see slightly wobbly handheld extra).
Then back over Kirkstone pass (lots of snow on the fells, although it was pretty foggy) and down to Grasmere for Gingerbread and pint.
Our next destination was Cathedral Caves, the right route to take is back along the main roads, through Ambleside. There is a better route, along single track roads which took half the time and was only slightly hairy.
The caves are impressive (hence the name). This little Robin seems to have made it's home there ( well we've seen a Robin in there before, maybe there is a flock of them ;)) no sign of the goldfish today though.
Back now, just about to go for a couple of beers at our new favourite Lakes pub 'The Crafty Baa', well worth a visit.
