Monmouth
Mrs BB and I took a drive to Monmouth this afternoon as we saw the flooding in South Wales had been bad there. The River Monnow was extremely high. The blipfoto show Monnow Bridge (1272AD - the only remaining fortfied bridge in the UK) with the River Monnow almost touching the underneath of its medieval arches.
The town was extremely quiet with many shops closed. A lot of houses had been flooded and the water was off in the town, with Welsh Water limiting the distribution of bottled water.
On the way home it started raining heavy; we are entertianing friends this evening with more rain and problems forecast over the UK.
