Today's the day …………………………. to escape

It was wild and windy in Kirkcudbright Bay this afternoon - but at least there were bright spells between the squally showers.  And this part of the country seems at least to have escaped the worst effects of Storm Dennis.  The pictures on the TV of the devastating floods suffered by many in the past few days are heartbreaking to see.  I'm not sure how you would ever get over experiencing something quite so awful.

The house that you see here overlooking the bay with its rounded curves is The White House.  It was named last year as Scotland’s 'Home of the Year'  at the end of an eight-part series on the new BBC Scotland channel.  You can read about it here if you are interested.
