Antiquated

The equipment and surroundings here at Yorkhill are very old fashioned compared with Wishaw General. Mack's incubator here looks like it should belong in the transport museum!

However, the care has been excellent and we have been well looked after. Mack had his first general anaesthetic today to have his central line fitted. He was away at theatre for around 2 hours and behaved impeccably.

He's now back on the ward with me - bright, alert and has just enjoyed his first feed for 18 hours. I'm hoping the effects of the anaesthetic allow us both a quiet relaxing night.

I never thought I would say this, but I'm looking forward to getting back to the familiarity of our wee room at Wishaw General tomorrow. (And the free parent's breakfasts which are not available here)
