Snowflakes on the Links
The buildings and lights in the distance are horribly out of focus and the snowflakes in the near ground are quite pronounced. Normally, any pictures I've tried to take of snow falling have been disappointing, so I'm pleased the flakes are so obvious here. The blurring of the background is not intentional - I've never managed to take an in-focus photo with the night function on this camera (Pentax Optio S10). However, I think it makes the buildings look almost painted or drawn in pastel rather than photographed, which I like a lot. My nan had a candle where the light shone through a glittery village scene that looked not dissimilar to this.
Today was an at-desk day, but the rest of the week should be more active: my team is running some training and we also have a couple of get-togethers for the members of our extended work network - these events tend to be fun if we've organised them well.
On the home front, I've made slightly more progress on the incredibly slow journey to repaint our bedroom. The painting is never as bad as I expect, but I've still forgotten how quick and inquisitive our new cat is: the second-floor window, opened wide for ventilation, is apparently an irresistible draw and only a lot of swearing and diving on top of her kept her inside. She's now in a huff on the sofa.
