Blue during Red weather warning
This weather is ... not great.
As previously mentioned, I live in a converted Victorian building. My home is a sort of mezzanine bungalow - my bedroom is in the roof. The wind was so strong I swear I could feel the building move.
We weren't expecting to wake up to the local news this morning (last night's news mainly talked about England), that this area of East Wales was under a rare red weather warning. Pontypridd appears to have borne the brunt of it, where the river Taff broke its banks causing flooding and landslides across the valley - police have declared a number of major incidents.
We haven't escaped flooding in Cardiff - the Taff has flooded areas in Llandaff, as well as Pontcanna Fields (the riding school had to evacuate their horses) and Bute Park, both of which are about 5 minutes walk from me.
I hope the local authorities and the Welsh government give all those affected by the flooding the help and support they need, because, let's be honest, I don't hold out much hope of any help coming from Westminster.
