Windermere

Poppy text last night to say that the ferry hadn’t been too bad. I got up in the night to check her progress and they were in Germany. they must have made up a lot of time because they managed to get to their resort in Austria at around 1pm.
Meanwhile, we managed to pack the car and get away just after 8am. We had a fairly good journey north apart from a diversion around Grantham where the A1 was flooded.
The cottage we are staying at is slap bang in the middle of Windermere, small but cosy, warm and clean. We unpacked then headed down the road to Booths (Alfie’s favourite supermarket) and got some food and drink in, then D and I did a short walk up Orrest Head where it was blowing a gale. The rain soon came in so we ducked into a pub for a quick pint then headed back to join A & A and ordered a curry.
Looking forward to a good long walk tomorrow.
