Home economics, and make it snappy

Valentine's Day, and a trip up to Sundridge to see Mrs Ottawacker's father beckons. Sole request from the north: cheesecake please. 

So Mrs Ottawacker and Ottawacker Jr set about making their World Famous Cherry Cheesecake. 

Oh our kitchen is a sight to behold on occasions like this. Like a concert hall conductor, Mrs Ottawacker clicks her fingers and Ottawacker Jr  executes the command. It reminds me of the summer I spent as a sous-chef/barman at the Jean Lamour in Nancy. Cut this, do this, serve this... 

The willing (certainly more willing than I was, it seems) lackey softens the butter in the microwave, beats the cream cheese, mixes the cherries, crushes the digestive biscuits... Mrs Ottawacker looks on with pride.
