Old tin mine
called Wheal Coates, on the beautiful northern coast of Cornwall, a county at the extreme end of England's southwestern peninsula.
The general area is affectionately known as the West Country and is a favourite of holidaymakers in the summer. Its position also puts it first in line for the weather systems coming in from the Atlantic. We had a generous sample of storm Dennis and the extra shows some of the wet. I gave grandson a (verbal) lesson on the dangers of cars aquaplaning if travelling too fast in very wet conditions.
