Nose Work
I woke early, so we left early for our walk.
We drove to Sorø Academy and I put up 12 Nose Work* hides in 2 search areas.
In the first I put them with good distance between each hide, but in the second search, I put the hides up in pairs. When 2 hides are close, it can be difficult for the dog to separate the scent and it is a little more challenging for the dog to determine from which direction the scent come from. This of course makes it harder to find the hides.
We went for a walk for about an hour and when we came back, the scents had had plenty of time to spread. Especially because it was a very windy day, which makes Nose Work extra challenging.
The boys were so good though. They both worked like pros and found all of the hides. Not even those placed close to each other caused trouble. Well done boys.
When the Border Collies were done with their searches, I let Biscuit find those that weren't placed too high. I don't want him to stand on hind legs too much as he is an old man.
We had a lovely morning and now it is nice to be home.... I think it is time for some hot chocolate!
This is Hero, who is very close to one of the hides.
See you tomorrow
