Lucky

Cloudy, grey, cold day....not pleasant at all.  However, there were loads of coyote tracks around so I was tracking a set when I flurry of brown erupted out of the higher brush. I was so excited thinking it might be an owl that was hunting.  Alas, not.  However, I was pleased to see this youngster sitting in the trees.  Nice to see...

Second surprise is when I saw a UFO flying over the meadow - extra (heavily cropped).  For those of you, like me, love birds, you get to recognize differences or similarities in shapes, flying patterns, etc.  It was quite a distance but I knew it was "different" so took a few shots before it headed out over the lake and hoped for the best.  An eagle....so cool and exciting for me.  (They don't grow on trees like they do in some areas  ;) )

Not bad for a less than stellar day for being out and about.  No coyote sighted, though.
