Most mornings I take shots of the birds "just in case".  Well today nothing else presented itself as a sensible blip.  Had the Sparrowhawk visited it would have been a more appropriate blip.

The afternoon was taken up by a monthly meeting of the Penrith Support Group of the Cumbria Wildlife Trust.  The subject of the talk was Birds of Prey.  The gentleman giving the talk had photographed birds all over the world but confined himself mainly to the UK species and had many interesting facts and figures to go with the slides.  One I found particularly interesting was the way diet changed across the birds range.  This could at times be a complete turn round with say voles being the most frequent prey with Lemmings hardly touched in one area, in another are it could be the complete opposite.
