Jeyapaul and palmyra

I had a surprise when visiting Ida when friends Jeyapaul and Snowfie dropped in. In the blip, Jeyapaul is preparing a local and seasonal delicacy, palmyra shoot. The palmyra palm is the tree of Tamil Nadu state, every bit of it is used, as wood, fuel and food. Food wise it produces a sap which is made into jaggery or palm sugar, a very juicy fruit and also these shoots, which Jeyapaul is preparing.
These are the new shoots which have grown from fallen seeds and if left growing would grow into a palm tree, there is a fab local video here : https://youtu.be/tzGq_jtk30A
Which shows how the stems got to the state they are in on the table. The video is local to here I think, as the men are wearing the local dress which is called a lunghi.
Today I had a quiet day and caught up with some things I needed to do at home. I walked to Aaryaas bakery and back, then this evening, Raja drove me to the Buhari for dinner and and I had some very tasty butter chicken.
Steps today 7000.
