Thin Blue Line

The sad thing is that there is only a thin blue line between us and organised crime.
The worrying thing is that the line is not solid right through.
There are holes of too-much-work-for-too-few-people, money going to those don't do the work and nanny-state-tree-hugging restraints.
The line is also blurred by political ambition, corruption and personal pettiness.
The line needs to be thicker and more solid.
Whether it needs to be more blue or include colourful dots of community involvement, is open for discussion.
