At the pumping station. A look at the trash rake cleaners, covered with foam.
We are de-icing the coolingwatersystem by means of circulating part of the coolingwater at the outlet of the system, bringing it back to the inlet.
When the difference between the intake and circulating water becomes higher, foam is generated because of proteïns in the seawater.
To get rid of the foam (which is sticky and dirty) we have to reduce the surface tension by means of some special chemical stuff which is sparyed on it.
At the left you can see two trash rakes coming up after cleaning the filter.
Better in LARGE.....
One unit at "must run" because of de-cing that has to continue.
