Ros felt slightly better this morning but still felt sick she again had little to eat for breakfast.
Ros had an hospital appointment at ten for a check up which were glad to say went well. The Doctor gave her a thorough examination and said that her ribs are badly bruised and it will take a week or two for the pain to subside. She told Ros to leave out one of the tablets which should stop her from feeling sick.
Afterwards we went to the hospital administration office on the sixteenth floor to tidy up the paperwork to ensure that we have all we need to make the insurance claim when we get back home. Ros was also issued with a fitness to fly letter which means she will be insured when we eventually fly home. We were also given a little memento of our visit when they handed Ros a CD of her a scan.
Things do not move quickly in this hospital and the whole rigmarole took over two hours. Afterwards we rewarded ourselves with a well deserved coffee in the café adjoining the hospital. We then caught the MyCiti Bus to Bo Kaap the Muslim Quarter of Cape Town where all their houses are painted in vibrant colours and looked spectacular in the bright midday sun. Whilst we were there one of the Cape Town Tourist Ambassador's handed us a leaflet on how to keep safe and we got chatting to him and his colleague who he jokingly called his wife.
They told us that Prince Harry and Meghan had visited Bo Kaap last year and they insisted that they take our photograph where Harry and Meghan had stood for theirs. The young lady ambassador proudly showed me her photograph of the Royal Couple on her phone. We spent a pleasant half hour chatting and joking with them before moving on to Long Street a popular street for tourists.
Just around the corner from Long Street eagle eyed Ros spotted a Jaguar XJS and a Morse Jaguar as she calls them parked in the road outside what appeared to be a car showroom. We looked at the two cars in the street and when we turned our attention to the showroom we couldn't believe our eyes as it was an Alladdin's Cave stuffed with Classic Cars all in original unrestored condition. We went inside to look around and a chap came over to talk to us and he in turn introduced us to the owner of the garage who told us that he preferred original unrestored cars as each blemish told a story. He had a good collection of cars for sale including three V12 E types three Jaguar XJS's two 1970's Rolls Royce's a couple of Mercs a nice BMW Z3 in British Racing Green a Triumph TR4 an MGA and an Alpha both of which were sold to UK buyers and the list went on. He explained that in Europe and the United States there was a big demand for South African Classic Cars as the atmosphere here is not condusive to rust as most of the cars in his showroom would be reduced to meer rust buckets had they spent their time on the wet and salty roads in the UK.
Ros finally dragged me away and we continued our walk towards Long Street. We called in at the Railway Station to book our tickets on the Premier Class train to Johannesburg but were too late as the ticket office closed at four. A helpful young man took our contact details and assured us that someone would get back to us tomorrow. Hmmmm we'll see.
We then headed to the Waterfront which is fast becoming one of our favourite places in Cape Town. On the way we had afternoon tea and as they had no cake we had churros with chocolate dip. This quirky rooftop café was a very pleasant place to while away some time.
After a modicum of window shopping in the Waterfront we headed to the rooftop bar at the Radisson Red Hotel for a glass of chilled white and views of the Waterfront.
Another MyCiti bus took us to the Eastern Food Bazaar where we ate last Saturday. We don't usually eat at the same place twice but we enjoyed this food market so much we went back for a second helping. We finally arrived back at the hotel at nine and are pleased to report that although Ros felt tired she was feeling a lot better especially as she had eaten a goodly amount of chicken tikka masala and not felt sick.
