subtle

Subtle, muted, subdued: The coat of a Highland Birch-wood in winter.

An acquired taste perhaps but I spend a lot of my time in these places. I love to pick a path through a birch-wood in winter: the scent, freshness, silence . . . restorative.

The only thing that would improve this photo for me are some big snowflakes.
