The Flying Flea
This was Henri Mignet's vision of personal transport for the future, the Mignet HM14 Pou du Ciel. Sadly those that were built had a poor accident record and the idea never really 'took off' although you could consider them to be the forerunners of the microlight planes of today. This example is in the Lakeland Museum of Motor Transport at Backbarrow. I couldn't help noticing that two of the 'historic' motor vehicles on show in the museum were of a type that I have owned! I came away feeling a lot older but at least, in line with other attractions in the area, as local residents we only pay half the normal ticket price to get in.
