A portrait by the artist as a young girl

In the time honoured tradition I've put these little drawings by the four year old on the fridge. A smiling unicorn under a rainbow, an unattributed animal and at bottom right Flora. I'm particularly fond of Flora's ears in this picture. They aren't right as far as perspective goes but they're bang on for shape. The unicorn was signed but I've blurred that out to preserve her privacy.

I'm going out for lunch today with a couple of former colleagues. When I get back I'll be off for my fifth visit in a week to my dentist. I'm lucky that he can keep fitting me in at short notice but I'm not feeling great about all these return trips.

It's damp, calm and not too chilly today. Nothing like yesterday's sunshine. We're in for a battering of wind and rain at the weekend so today is to be enjoyed as much as February ever can be.
