WWT London: Red Shoveler Splashing

Splashier and flashier in large
Extras:
Red Shoveler (m) splashing (next moment)
Red shoveler (m) skimming about
Nēnē attempts to descend elegantly from wall
Nēnē calling
Hardhead confrontation
Emperors looking this way and that

Yeah, I couldn't choose...
Went to the Wetland Centre in the early afternoon sunshine: the emperors weren't being very friendly (initially), so I went and spent quite a while watching the maned ducks pottering about, red shovelers and fulvous tree ducks splashing and flapping around, and then returned to find the emperors (and their nēnē friend) poking about in an unusual part of their enclosure.
I tried to take some different sorts of shots, inc. shadows inside the flapping wings of the fulvous tree ducks, and layered shapes of emperor geese on emperor geese...

Today's others are here (or right from Tundra geese (+ nēnē))
