Oops!

Bellringing practice went with a bang! One broken stay and one rope shooting skyward.

We weren’t even practising at our own tower! Luckily our tower captain was there and headed up to remove this smashed one and has promised to pop a fixed one back up in its place.

That certainly shook us all up! We only trusted Richard to ring that bell afterwards until it was time to lower. We didn’t trust ourselves to hold it and even Richard had to keep thinking ‘don’t try and set’ each time we finished a piece.

Hopefully, we’ll have less drama next time. Lorraine was a bit shaken as the rope flew from her hands but was soon back on another bell to calm her nerves.

Let’s hope they let us back again after we brought all that drama with us!
