Memories

I had my 13th Birthday in Malta. This was my first ever holiday abroad............. because my dad was made redundant from British Leyland.

Up until that age, we used to go to Morecambe, Cornwall, Paignton, Scarborough, Bournemouth......

I have fond memories of these holidays, well, except from the travelling point of view, which I'm sure my mum and dad would agree :)
It was all sunshine and sand, inflatable rings and crazy golf, suncream and icecream, and the juiciest peaches you can ever have the hope to eat...............

and Wade Whimsies.............

This is my box of whimsies that I've carted around with me from an early age. (I did once say I was a hoarder because I get sooo attached to things)
These little china animals were what my pocket money got spent on and a lot of these were bought whilst on holidays.
Apparently they are collectables.

They're a bit tatty around the edges now and I'm waiting on my children being old enough to take as much care of them back then as I did!! (is it just me or do kids not look after their things the same way these days?)
