Well, it's what he said eventually. First he said "I bet you've got a sweat on" but that's not quite so nice..

I did have a sweat on. I'd abandoned my coat and everything after 90 minutes of hacking inch thick ice from the pavement.

I've cleared a big stretch of pavement by our house, some of the road around where we park our cars, dug my car out from the 5 inches or so of snow it was still covered by, walked 3 miles doing school run stuff and am finally sitting down with coffee and cake.

I need to walk back down to pick the kids up later but have already dumped my car near school so they don't have to try and get up the hill on all the super icy pavements. It is just a big ice rink in places.

I'm sure I should be doing something useful right now... Mostly because I don't think I'm going to be able to move later on!
