Wintersun

This photo was taken at the end of the day during a skitrip in Austria. I wanted to capture the sunset and the light it spread on the the snowy mountain. I pushed my tripod deep in the snow to get my camera close to the small branche peeping through the snow, creating some foreground interest. I used the tree in the background to partially block the direct light, and also to create some nice shadows on the snow, leading the eye to the tree. To balance the light in the sky with the foreground, a 3-stop ND-grad filter was used.
