Susan Looking In to the demise of this oak

The winds died down overnight and were just fresh this morning. We went for a walk around Mote Park on the way to the allotment.

In the event we had to double back as part of the route was closed owing to continued flooding and the alternative route was for some inexplicable reason closed.

This majestic oak had succumbed to the storm. Closer investigation showed the the core of the tree was rotten with fungus weakening the tree and causing its collapse. Thanks to SueMiddleton for hosting MonoMonday
