Easy like a Sunday morning

This was the song blasting out of the little speaker in the tent next door to mine, followed by Hero from Enrique Iglaseas, powered by the generator only a few meters away. Normally no problem, but its late and we have a 5am start in the morning. I shared my frustration of noise to my tent mate and she very kindly made me feel heard and we both just laughed.
Today started with a short 2 hour walk in the forest where we saw/heard 4 different species of primates (Diana, red colobus, black and white colobus, olive colobus). It was so calming just to listen to the forest noises so intently as it woke up in the morning. After packing up camp and trekking back to base we had a very productive day of work going through the last 8 years of biomonitoring data and going through the plan for the next 5 years. The Biomonitoring specialist on site is such an inspiring person and her strength to work in these tough conditions is truly admirable. We ended the day with another short forest walk where we observed a pair of hornbills for a while. The perfect way to end our visit to Sapo. Tomorrow will be an epic journey to Zwedru and on to Ganta where we will sleep the night. We have been warned the roads are bad :)
