Brighton Pier and waves

Why we were there is a long story, but it was very cold and very windy - interesting to compare yesterday's blip photo taken 24 hours previous. 

And we were not there because of flight problems. Our flight from Cape Town last night set off on time and it was a trouble free flight. We landed at Gatwick early this morning and no problems with that either. So we have been lucky. Others have not, as many flights from Gatwick were cancelled yesterday. 

We had decided to stay today in a rather nice hotel near Gatwick and then set off home in the morning. Perhaps we will meet snow . . .

Apparently Appleby has suffered from flooding again. One of the pictures made the front page of the Guardian. We live too high up to be in any flooding danger, just hoping there has not been damage from the high winds.
