View from the summit of Mt Enys

What a great trip! Nearly 5 hours up for this view and the satisfaction was worth it.

Big is wonderful (with no pain or puffing ;-)

As you can see lots of blue sky but those clouds in the distance were due to a westerly pushing in from the Tasman Sea. It was cold up there and the westerly was lively.

We were amazed to see a glider up there. He swooped right down towards us - slightly unnerving. It happened so quickly (and I was wondering if he was going to hit us or the mountain) I didn't get my camera out in time.

Mt Enys is the highest peak in the Craigieburn Range. It's not as big as my planned climb at the end of this week but today had more elevation than day 2 will. So that's a good psychological boost. Not getting around it though, it will be a huge few days.

In some ways I prefer going up to going down. Today the scree was relentless. In places you could run it and that's good, but much of it was that awkward loose rock you have to pick your way through.

Yes, and we call this fun ;-)
