The Joker and the Thief in the Night

"Sit and I’ll tell yer’ bout the Joker and the Thief in the Night"  is the full title of the work crafted by my friend Tim Patterson for the exhibition Northumberland: Magic and Myth that opens at Woodhorn Colliery in Ashington on February 15th.


You may (or may not) remember that in 2016 I did photography to support Tim's solo exhibition called Roots and Branches at the Forge Studio in Allendale. 


Tim has been highly commended for his entry at Woodhorn and a photograph of him is required to be displayed in the gallery. He is one of the most camera shy people I have ever met, but today we managed to produce this image between us in less than 15 minutes.


We popped outside during a lull in the storm. The rain had stopped and the main problem was the sun!


The storm was fierce last night and this morning. Many roads have flooded and I made no effort to go anywhere. We seem to be on the extreme northern edge so we may be lucky in that respect.
