Avoiding Storm Ciara
The howling wind, rattling windows and wailing car/house alarm somewhere in the distance meant this was never going to be a day for venturing out. I did manage the few steps to the car to dig out the tripod from the boot before heading back in to play with the focus stacking feature on the Olympus.
The camera takes 8 shots automatically and blends them in camera to produce a JPG image - all in a few seconds. It also stores the Raw files for the intermediate shots. I used these to manually stack in Photoshop to compare, which took many minutes! This is the PS image - the in camera image was comparable, but left halos around the petals. A more dappled background would probably mask these though, so pretty impressive really.
