Evelyn War

Finished first week in new job. But still 50% in old job which made life complicated. Quite a bit of time preparing for the interviews for my replacement. And I’ve been asked to sit on the recruitment panel for a developer in my new area. I am going to have to wear a suit on four days in the next two weeks!
4 games of football and one Fartlek this week.
We have the dates for the next round of strikes over pay, conditions and pension. Rather than the days being dotted around like last time, there is a stretch of 2 weeks off. Two of us were discussing whether we could use the time to visit our respective offspring in France. But, ideally, the strike will bring the employers back to the negotiating table, in which case, we would be in the wrong country...

The issues have a small effect on me but, particularly the concerns around people having short term or precarious contracts, have a huge effect on some staff. It feels right to support this strike.

Today I killed several birds with one stone by visiting mum whilst two nephews together with their offspring visited. Here we see mum taking a picture of Evelyn. This will doubtless feature in Mum’s blip...
