Last day. My office was high jacked by colleague friends for a surprise leaving coffee morning with food, cake , speeches and presentations . I was overwhelmed by the volume of colleagues who just kept coming and kindness they expressed - all quite emotional.
This my buddy , the marvellous Mary D. We’ve been through much in the 2 1/2 yrs I’ve worked with her - she’s head of ‘midwifery practice development ‘ and has been an incredible role model and friend who I will miss hugely . I feel our planned Limerick lunch or two will not be the same as picking this woman’s mighty brain for the project, education session or tricky meeting that we usually work on together. But that’s ok .
I drove home very slowly feeling quite odd. ( late off on last day , really !! too much talking )
Hubs had made one of my favourite dinners and had the wine open - we kept things low key , watched an episode of young offenders and laughed loads, took the dog for walk and he let me rabbit on an on in a slightly manic vein - I needed to get the thoughts of the day, the past and the future out !!
Plan for immediate future - keep it simple, slower, enjoy life and improve my heart health .
