Sharing the Legacy

What's your favorite quote describing what our world would be like without the arts? I don't ever want to find out what it would be like, we proudly support our community's Community Concert Assn., although it has been awhile since we were able to get involved.

We met Jason Coleman, grandson of Pianist, Floyd Cramer today. Jason is traveling around the country performing in community concerts and sharing the story of his grandad, Floyd. What a genuinely nice guy! If you have time to watch the second link, you will see a few wonderful clips when he had the privilege of playing onstage as a little boy, with his grandad. He was 12 when Floyd passed away, but he has done his homework and put together a delightful show that shares the history, the legacy and the music of Floyd Cramer, who coined the term "slip note" when playing the piano. He describes it as simple as making an intentional mistake and then correcting it immediately after, creating a sound that flavored American music for 40 years, and continues to have it's impact today.

Jason inherited this gift of music and is sharing his delightful personality, and gift, in a very disarming and downright charming way! Thanks Jason!!!
