The Dancer and the Dodger

Among the great egrets, there is always a lot of posturing going on. If they see another bird in their territory, that bird has to go.

I saw it coming. Darlene the dancer wanted Diane out of her space. With nary a squawk...she made like a hawk...and pounced. For her part, Diane WANTS to be the top dog, THE bird of the herd, the head honcho, the egret in control. But, Darlene caught her unaware...so Diane had to become the dodger. It's Giant Egret 101.

Steve and Cindy (and doggie Raven) and Lisa and I hit some garage sales this morning, went to a craft show, and then had lunch at a picnic table at the bay.

In my extras is a blue heron that sailed over our heads this afternoon...wings out-stretched.
