Hitting the High Notes

Here's a rather unusual angled shot of a Song Thrush giving it some wellie in one of our City parks today. It was a park I hadn't visited for quite some time, and I was reminded about it by a posting of a sighting of Great Spotted Woodpecker, which I've seen there in the past. I thought I'd go in search of them before we have to batten down the hatches for the arrival of Storm Ciara tonight. I had a lovely walk, spoiled only by people coming up to me telling me there was a Woodpecker around. Needless to say, I didn't see or hear one. The glorious notes of this Thrush were some compensation. It was very high up in a tree and this was the only angle I could get.
