Flower Friday: A Pretty Poison

Today, I walked to the pond below our house to give the ducks some cracked corn, there is a mix of 13 male and female mallards, and one pair of wood ducks.

I noticed the hellebores were in bloom and stopped to take a few photos for a blip. I don't know much about this flower, although several were planted under a willow when we moved into this house.  Referred to as Christmas or Lenten Rose, I was surprised to learn it is a poisonous plant! 

Jeff is much better today and I remain well. Thanks for your comments of concern about Jeff, we hope this virus has passed.
