More From Yesterday

Yesterdays walk took us around Swanpool Lake which is a saline lake and an important nature reserve separated from the sea by a shingle bar which is now Swanpool Beach. Swanpool is an unusual lagoon connected to the sea by a storm drain gulley and is backed backed by a rare wooded wetland. In the summer months the lake is home to a model boat club.

The beach adjacent is home, in the summer, to a row of brightly painted beach huts and it also has a beach cafe selling the nicest ice cream cones with toppings.
