Inverlochlarig
Loch Voil is a small loch of approximately 5 km in length. It is separated from Loch Doine by the River Larig and is drained at its northern end by the River Balvaig at Balquhidder.
Both Lochs run parallel to the small single track road connecting Balquhidder with Inverlochlarig. The glen has no through route and is a place of rich scenic beauty.
This is true Rob Roy country - the Braes of Balquhidder.
At the head of the glen the Highlands assume their full stature, ringed by mighty Munros, Beinn Tulaichean and Cruach Ardrain.
Inverlochlarig was the site of the final home of Rob Roy MacGregor following his pardon and he died here in 1736.
It was a colourless day today and the wind chill was beyond freezing. Taken as dusk settling.
