Happy Waitangi Day :)

Its a public holiday today....Waitangi Day or NZ Day as it used to be called. As we are retired it really doesn't make a lot of difference although we did have a very slow start to our day.
Doug cooked the delicious zucchini chutney this morning.....all the ingredients (zucchini, celery, cucumber, onion, red and green peppers) had been soaking in salt and water overnight. Its our all time favourite chutney.  At the moment we have a glut of zucchini's....cooked in vinegar, sugar, mustard seeds, turmeric and thickened with GF flour.
This afternoon we did a walk taking an hour and half (thats quite a long one for us olds), we enjoyed it as the temperatures are cooler today.

Enjoying Elton (who is in NZ at the moment) on TVOne tonight.....Brits Icon - a programme that incorporates interviews on stage and comments from other singers etc. The finale is Elton and Rod....what better way to wind up.
